ST. LOUIS — A 14-year tradition returns to Francis Park in September.
‘Art in the Park’ will be held on Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Eighty artists will come together to showcase and their work. There will be live music, tasty food and kids’ activities. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
Art in the Park has become a favorite event for artists and art lovers. The fair offers everything from jewelry, sculptures, to painting and photography. Most of the artists are local.
There will be live music from Jason Garms at 10 a.m., the River Kittens at 12:30 p.m. and the Falling Fences will perform at 3 p.m.
Vintage baseball teams Lafayette Square Cyclones, Murphysboro Clarkes and St. Charles Explorers will play exhibition games at 1, 2:30 and 3:45 p.m. Families are welcome and can enjoy free activities for children.
Unique to Art in the Park, many participating artists donate original pieces to an art raffle. A $1 ticket buys guests a chance to win work from a favorite artist. Profits raised throughout the day are used to maintain and enhance Francis Park’s art collection found throughout the park grounds.
Art in the Park is located in Francis Park at Nottingham Ave. and Childress Ave.
