MAPLEWOOD, Mo. — After 19 years in business, "the bar with the swings" will be closing its doors for good next Saturday, June 15.
Boogaloo opened its doors in 2005, according to its website. The eclectic restaurant and bar, located on Manchester Road in downtown Maplewood, is known for its award-winning cocktails and Cuban, Creole and Caribbean-inspired cuisine.
The restaurant announced in an Instagram post on Tuesday that it would soon shutter.
"It’s with a heavy heart to announce the closing of Boogaloo..." the post reads. "I’d like to thank the Maplewood community, Mid-County Chamber of Commerce and the dozens of employees that have worked here over the years that have made Boogaloo a family."
The restaurant did not share its reasoning for the sudden closure, but long-time customers were invited to stop by one last time to show support for the restaurant and its staff.

"Swing on by one last time to celebrate the years of memories we've had as we reflect in our last days," the post said. "It's been a swinging good time; farewell to all."
Boogaloo will remain open during its standard hours this week, from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Next Wednesday through Saturday, it will open at 4 p.m., according to the post.
