MAPLEWOOD, Mo. — A burger joint in Maplewood is set to close on Friday, June 21.

Burger Champ, located on Sutton Boulevard, announced on social media Wednesday they will close after service on Friday. The restaurant said the post was their official "it's not working" announcement.

The space opened in November 2023.

"Simply put, the space is too big for the concept and the resources needed to continue are past the point of sustainability. There is no other concept coming from us in this space," the post read.

The restaurant served as an extension of the "Champ" brand. Pizza Champ, at 2657 Lyle Ave., opened in 2022 and will remain open.

Burger Champ said guests will "see burgers from us again" but there was no word on when or where that would happen.
