FESTUS, Mo. — Chris Jacobs said he hopes to open his new restaurant, Crispy Edges Eats and Shakes, in Festus next month.
He intended to open the restaurant last fall but encountered delays during the renovation of the building at 700 Collins Drive that previously housed the Champions Mercantile store.
“I’ve still got some work to do before we open,” Jacobs said Feb. 20. “The target now is probably the end of March. It’s just been delays (in renovations), like the plumber was about a month behind.”
Jacobs said Crispy Edges will serve made-from-scratch Italian-American fare, like pizza, sandwiches, bruschetta, toasted ravioli and shaved brussels sprouts. The restaurant also will offer specialty milkshakes. It will serve wine and beer, too.
He formerly owned the Local House Restaurant and Bar in Arnold, which is still open under different ownership.
