ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis favorite recently got a makeover.
Gioia’s on The Hill is back open after it closed for three days to debut a fresh new look. Along with a new lighter paint color on the wall and refinished floors, the 101-year-old business completed its revamp with a new subway tile wall and suspended menu boards.
A spokesperson said the white tile wall features a green glazed brick stripe that brightens up the dining room and highlights the mirrored windows of the walk in cooler that was built by the deli’s founder and owner, Charlie Gioia, in the early 1900s.
The original hardwood floors in the dining room shine brightly, as they were refinished for the first time in three generations. With construction completed, Gioia’s Deli on the Hill resumes it normal business hours, Monday through Friday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Gioia’s on The Hill is located at 1934 Macklind Avenue
