ST. LOUIS — The culinary mind behind a St. Louis favorite is coming to City Foundry next month, and he's bringing his elevated grilled cheese concept with him.
Steve Ewing, of Steve's Hot Dogs on South Grand, plans to open a brick-and-mortar location in the food hall at City Foundry next month for his concept restaurant, Steve's Meltdown. What started as a ghost kitchen whipping up elevated grilled cheese sandwiches, soups and fries for meal delivery apps will have a physical location in early March.
"We believe this concept will offer even more kid-friendly options for families spending the day visiting all they have to offer," co-founder Danni Eickenhorst said in a press release announcing the new location. "We will also have a number of vegetarian and vegan options including our Tomato Basil Soup, and two vegan grilled cheese options."
You can expect to find Meltdown favorites like their mac and cheese, and sandwiches like the Forever Young Adult Grilled Cheese. The announcement also said to look out for some new collaborations and specials.
"We like to have fun in everything we do. This will be no exception," said Ewing.
An exact opening date has not been announced, but it will be in the first two weeks of the month, the announcement said.
