Pride Month: How to celebrate in the St. Louis area

ST. LOUIS — June is Pride Month. Celebrations, events and specials are planned all month long throughout the St. Louis area in support of the LGBTQIA+ community.

5 On Your Side has put together a list of ways you can celebrate Pride Month, whether by dining out or by attending an event.

City Foundry 

Celebrate Pride at City Foundry with Made with Pride Pop-Up Market on Foundry Way. 

From Wednesday, June 21, through Saturday, June 23, Tower Grove Pride will host its second Made With Pride Pop-Up Market. The four-day celebration will feature "LGBTQIA+ vendors, including STL-based queer artists, unisex fashion, jewelry, home goods, handmade goods, nonprofit support opportunities, plants and greenery, and more," its website said.

City Museum 

Celebrate Pride Month at the City Museum with City Nights: Pride Art. LGBTQ+ artists will have a one-night-only art show from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on June 7. Those 21 years and older will be allowed in.

The event will feature work from 14 St. Louis LGBTQ+ artists in the sculpture garden on the rooftop of the City Museum.

Missouri Botanical Garden 

Celebrate Pride Month at the Missouri Botanical Garden! MOBOT will have activities designed to educate, raise awareness and provide a safe, inclusive space for the LGBTQIA+ community throughout the month, according to its website.

Missouri History Museum 

The Missouri History Museum will present "Gateway to Pride," the first-ever full-scale exhibit on St. Louis' LGBTQIA+ history. 

It will showcase "meaningful artifacts, striking images, and insightful oral histories," according to its website. 

The exhibit will open on Saturday, June 8, and run through July 6, 2025.

Pride and Joy 2024: A Youth Community Pride Event

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, a free community event for youth, families and community members will take place at The Living Room in Maplewood. Complete Harmony, a trauma-informed kid yoga studio, will host the event.

The event is to "raise awareness, love, and community compassion for our Queer youth and their families and communities," its website said.

PrideFest

The big PrideFest celebration is returning to downtown St. Louis. PrideSTL announced this year's theme as "Unleash Your Pride."

The group will host a kickoff event from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 29. Slayyyter and DAYA will take the stage and headline the event.

The 2024 Grand Pride Parade will take place beginning at noon on Sunday, June 30. It will run down Market Street starting at 10th Street and ending at 16th Street.  The parade will showcase LGBT-friendly businesses, non-profit organizations and community groups. 

Crystal Walters and Todrick headline the stage on Sunday. 

Vendors, local artists, food and much more will be available throughout PrideFest.

Pride St. Charles 

Pride St. Charles will take place from noon to 7 p.m. on June 15 at St. Charles Family Arena. 

The Pride Festival is free to attend and is family-friendly. The event will have entertainment, vendors and much more for guests! There will be no parade this year, according to its website.

Six Flags St. Louis 

Six Flags Pride Night 2024 will be on Saturday, June 1! 

Tickets are required for the event on Saturday which includes access to the full park all day and to the exclusive Pride Night event from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. 

The event will feature the Divas of the Grove, music and rides lit up in rainbow colors. Food, drinks and retail specials will also be available. A portion of each ticket will be donated to Pride St. Louis.

Steve's Hot Dogs

Head over to Steve's Hot Dogs for a special PRIDE Month Cocktail menu! 

The menu, starting June 1, will include: 

  • Pink Flamingo: A cocktail as unforgettable as Divine herself, with the citrusy punch of triple sec, a splash of cranberry, and garnished with a flamboyant twist of lime.
  • Joan Collins:  An effervescent cocktail that's as bold as the diva it's named after, this drink combines the zesty freshness of lemon juice with playful sparkle syrup, creating a perfectly balanced symphony of tart and sweet.
  • Pride Punch: A vibrant cocktail that celebrates diversity and unity in every delightful sip, this delicious concoction combines passion fruit rum and huckleberry vodka, balanced with the sweet acidity of pineapple juice and a splash of grenadine.

According to a press release, $2 from every Pride drink sold will benefit PROMO Missouri.

St. Louis Cardinals 

Pride Night at Busch Stadium will be at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, June, 7, as the Cardinals face the Colorado Rockies. 

A special theme ticket is required to receive a Cardinals Pride Pack. The pack includes a Pride-themed belt bag, headband and enamel pin. A portion of each ticket will be donated to Team Saint Louis, according to the Cardinals.

St. Louis City Hall 

A PRIDE Celebration at St. Louis City Hall will happen from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11. The free event is open to all. 

The celebration will have performances by LGBTQIA+ St. Louis artists, food and entertainment. Several St. Louis leaders, who have made contributions to the LGBTQIA+ community and beyond, will be honored.

CITY Pride Night will be on June 8! St. Louis will face the Portland Timbers.

Soulard Pride 

The Soulard Pride parade and festival will take place on Saturday, June 1. 

Entertainment, vendors, local artists, small businesses and even a golf cart parade will be happening in Soulard from noon to 6:30 p.m. The event will take place in the city block of Menard between Russell and Geyer. 

The event is free to attend and open to everyone.
