Celebrate Saint Louis is forging a new era of a patriotic tradition in St. Louis.

ST. LOUIS — America's 248th birthday party is just around the corner.

This year, Celebrate Saint Louis is reshaping the downtown Fourth of July holiday tradition that many St. Louisans have grown to love, Fair Saint Louis. The inaugural festival on Thursday, July 4 begins at 10 a.m. with a patriotic parade of floats, dancers, marching bands and a dazzling display from the Misty Blues All-Female Skydiving Team.

“We are proud to bring a diverse array of exciting and memorable events to the inaugural Celebrate Saint Louis July 4th Festival in celebration of our city and our nation,” General Chairman of Celebrate Saint Louis Tim Meers said in a statement. “Our area's civic, business, government and charitable organizations have all come together to be a part of this thrilling day that offers something for everyone.”

Spend the day in downtown St. Louis before the light show begins for a wide spread of family-friendly events.

Look up at 2 p.m. for an airshow featuring a pilot from "Top Gun: Maverick" flying an Extra EA-300. Grab a bite from food vendors and find entertainment for the kids in the Family Fun Zone along Leonor K. Sullivan Boulevard on the riverfront.

Starting at 4:15 p.m., festivalgoers can listen to live music from FEEL, Lupe Fiasco, LOCASH and The Urge.

The Missouri History Museum will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Eads Bridge's dedication on July 4, 1874, with a series of historical acknowledgments. The festival will also honor service members and their families with a special recognition ceremony and VIP experience.

At 9:40 p.m. the day-long celebration concludes with an impressive fireworks display lighting up the sky.
