DELLWOOD, Mo. — Grammy Award-winning rock singer Melissa Etheridge is hosting a benefit concert Saturday night to help bring life back to an abandoned shopping complex in north St. Louis County.
The intimate show with the "I'm the Only One" singer begins at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in Dellwood's Springwood Plaza at 10174 West Florissant Ave. The night, sponsored by Cathy's Kitchen, will include music, stories and more.
Limited spots are available for the event. Click here to reserve tickets.
Money raised from the concert will go toward the $20 million R&R Marketplace project. The marketplace is an investment in the community, with a focus on creating thousands of jobs and a hub for education, workforce development, small business, banking and community resources.
The marketplace opened in September with inaugural tenants Brilliant Angels Academy, Employ St. Louis, North County Innovation Center, Midwest BankCentre, R&R Multiplex, Cathy's Kitchen To-Go and Assisted Recovery Centers of America.
"I'm so excited..." Etheridge said about Saturday's event. "The R&R Marketplace is just such an incredible project and the kind of project that brings lasting change, not just a little Band-Aid, but real solutions and forward-thinking, so I just love being part of it."
Funds from Saturday's event will specifically help complete Phase Two of the Black Box Theater, which will house live music, performances and plays.
