ST. LOUIS — Rod Stewart, a legendary rock'n'roll legend who specialized in rock music but is also given to croon timeless ballads, is bringing his “One Last Time” tour to St. Louis next August, in what appears to be a farewell tour.
The 79-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee will appear at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in St. Louis. At the moment, that is the last date on the entire tour, so if Sir Rod decides to hang it up, it could be his last ever public concert.
Stewart will be touring with fellow rockers Cheap Trick, both acts hit their peaks in the '70s and '80s, with Stewart reinventing himself as a balladeer in later years.
However, on this tour, they are promising some of his rock standards like “Maggie May,” “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” and “Forever Young.”
Tickets for the tour begin for Rod Stewart Fan Club members at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19 at RodStewart.com. The general public presale begins at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22.
Stewart will also be performing in the United Kingdom and a short residency in Las Vegas. His other tour stops include Austin, Texas; Birmingham, Toronto, Nashville and Charlotte, among others.
Stewart released his 33rd studio album this year, "Swing Fever," a collaboration with Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra. He toured Asia and Europe before wrapping things up with a Las Vegas residency.
Cheap Trick, a band known for its live concert performances and albums, is also a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
