CHESTERFIELD, Mo. — The Spirit of St. Louis Air Show and STEM Expo returns this weekend, June 8-9, to the Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield.
It's the 10th anniversary of the air show and 50,000 people are expected to attend. Mark Sutherland, the events organizer says the event happens every 2-3 years. The last one was 2022 and then before that there was one in 2019. The most attendance ever was the first year of the air show in 2014 at 120,000.
The two-day, family-friendly event was designed to promote science, technology, engineering, math and aviation education, according to the event's website.
Gates open at 9 a.m., and the event ends at 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Several military aircraft, including a Douglas DC-3, Grumman TBM Avenger, P51-C Mustang, P-47 Thunderbolt and more, will be on display. Dozens of exhibitors, such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the St. Louis Astronomical Society, will participate in the STEM Expo,
The air show runs from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day and will feature the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, an advanced Boeing F-15 demo, and more.
Organizers say there will be 1,000 volunteers making the show happen.

General admission is $55 on Saturday and $50 on Sunday. Click here to purchase your tickets.
Kids ages 12 and under and active military personnel with ID get in for free, but tickets are still required.
Parking is free for ticket holders. Guests are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on, as general admission viewing is in open field areas, according to the event website.
