ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Gateway Alliance Against Human Trafficking is celebrating 10 years of fighting against human trafficking at its 2024 Annual Dinner on Nov. 13.

GAHT was established in 2014 with the mission of educating communities and inspiring positive systemic change to end human trafficking.

At its annual dinner, it will be honoring three allies in the fight against human trafficking: Jennifer Schwesig and the Armstrong Teasdale LLP; Chief Chris DiGiuseppi, Lake Saint Louis Police Department; and John P. Quarenghi, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney St. Charles County Missouri - Government.

A GAHT spokesperson said last year alone, 249 cases were identified in Missouri, affecting 356 victims, while almost 1 in 2 victims were children.

Overall, GAHT has educated about 500,000 people through in-person and developing online and video production.

GAHT is dedicated to providing education to reduce the prevalence of human trafficking and supports victims. Through its "Breaking the Chains of Human Trafficking" program, it offers courses, trainings and presentations for students and adults.

Through this awareness, the GAHT programs have helped people throughout the community to identify and report more potential cases of human trafficking, preventing further exploitation of victims – especially children – and saving lives.
