BELLEVILLE, Ill. — Strawberry season has arrived at Eckert's! Starting Wednesday, April 24, guests can head out to the fields in Belleville to pick fresh berries by the pound.
The strawberry fields at Eckert's Farm, located at 951 S. Green Mount Road, will be open every day for picking from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A field access pass is required for those 2 and older. Passes start at $3 per person on weekdays and $6 per person on weekends, and each includes a tractor ride to and from the fields. Click here to reserve yours.
This year, the pick-your-own strawberries cost $4.49 per pound.
The popular Strawberry Festival returns May 4-5 and runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday in May, including Memorial Day. The festival offers fun for the whole family, including pick-your-own strawberries, carnival rides, festival foods, a petting zoo and more. Although it is not a ticketed event, some activities may have fees.
On Friday, May 17, Eckert's will host a special Sip, Shop & Support event to benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness - St. Louis (NAMI). All registers will have change jars for round-up donations, and 10% of pick-your-own strawberry sales will be donated.
Additionally, $1 from every pint of strawberry hard cider sold May 1-31 at the Cider Shed will go toward NAMI.
For the pick-your-own blackberry, peach and apple seasons, Eckert's will give back to a different local charity.
“This series allows us to get the community involved while donating to foundations that are meaningful to the farm and our guests," President Chris Eckert said in a statement. "We hope to make a difference for each charity by the end of the 2024 season.”
