The festival, which returns Sept. 28-29 to Forest Park, features a lineup of more than 28 national, regional and local acts.

ST. LOUIS — Evolution Festival is back in St. Louis for its second year, and the lineup has something for fans of all genres.

The festival, which returns Sept. 28-29 to Forest Park, features a lineup of more than 28 national, regional and local acts.

"Headlining are renowned acts The Killers and Beck, joined by many more iconic artists including Jane’s Addiction, Blondie, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, 2024 Grammy Award Winner Killer Mike, and many more," the announcement said.

Evolution Festival Executive Producer Joe Litvag said they believe the success of year one brought even bigger names for year two.

"Our mission year one was, not only to make sure the fans had an incredible experience, but that the artists had an incredible experience, as well. Fortunately, they did, so they go back and tell their representatives and tell other bands that they know that 'Hey, this is a great festival to play. You should come play it and word starts to spread.' It was definitely part of the process for year two was sort of capitalizing on the positive momentum and feedback we got from year one," he said.

In addition to musical acts, the festival will celebrate the city's culinary experiences and showcase other art forms.

Evolution Festival Executive Producer Steve Schankman said the festival is back for year two with some minor changes, including a bigger musical lineup, a third stage and a new entrance added on the south side.

"It's going to be easier to get in, easy to get out again. We're trying to make everything where there's room for everybody," he said.

According to Litvag, the festival's inaugural year proved to be an economic boost for the city and the momentum is only continuing to grow.

"It's just exciting because a lot of festivals don't make it to year two, so the fact that we have made it to year two, I think it makes it pretty sweet, of course, we still have a long way to go," he said.

Tickets start at $129.50 for a weekend pass and will be available starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28. Click here for more information about ticket options.

The festival will be held at Langenberg Field, which is just behind the Dwight Davis Tennis Center.

The inaugural event drew thousands of attendees. It was one of the first major music festivals in the city since Lou Fest called it quits in 2018.

Schankman said they knew they had a lot of eyes on them in year one for that reason.

"This is here to stay. We need this in St. Louis. We have so many great venues, but the outdoor festival is not a concert. It is an experience. Every big city has to have a festival because music is culture, and culture brings everyone together," he said.

While there's a way to go before the stage is officially set, the hope is to bring in more from out of town to St. Louis, while reminding those who call the Lou home, that this festival is for you.

"It's a treat and a reward for the people that live here to say this is something for you. This is something that you can consider your event in your backyard, and we want people to come be a part of it for years to come," Litvag said.
