ST. LOUIS — If you like American Ninja Warrior, you'll love Titan Games.
It’s an intense show hosted by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on NBC.
And St. Louisans have someone to root for.
Derik Scott grew up in the Lou. He’s a Lindbergh High School graduate who won a national championship in gymnastics when he was just 7 years old.
He also holds a world record for back flips.
Titan Games features extreme athletes from across the country fighting it out to become the Titan Champion—and win $100,000. Scott told 5 On Your Side he’s got what it takes to compete.
“In high school, I played basketball, baseball and football. I also competed in gymnastics my whole entire life. I also did swimming and diving. You name it, I probably competed in it,” Scott said.
He’s a lawyer now and admitted that he’s one of the smaller contestants on the show, but he said he can use that to his advantage.
Scott said he’s dedicating his performance on the show to his older brother, who died in a car crash when they were kids.
The two-hour season premiere of Titan Games is Thursday, Jan. 3 at 7 p.m. on 5 On Your Side.
