TROY, Mo. -- The case of a local man who was acquitted of his wife's brutal murder is being featured on this week's episode of Dateline.
Russ Faria was acquitted of the crime back in November.
His wife, Betsy, died in December 2011 after suffering 55 stab wounds.
After serving more than two years in prison, Faria was granted a new trial when additional evidence surfaced that was not presented to the jury during his first trial. The retrial lasted five days and concluded with a not guilty verdict from the judge, who cited "disturbing" concerns with the original police investigation.
The episode will air Friday, January 22 from 8 to 10 p.m. on NewsChannel 5.
