ST. LOUIS — Little Legacies Community Service Organization is a 501c3 for kids. Started in 2016, when Legacy Jackson was only 7 years old, the nonprofit has been making a difference ever since! They have now completed at least one project every month even throughout the pandemic. The organization sent over 3,000 pairs of shoes to Africa, provided luggage sets for children in foster care, and has partnered with over 100 community partners. Their projects are unique because they make sure that they are intentional about having fun. They have been recognized by the White House and honored on both the Senate and House of Representatives floors in the state of Missouri. They have a strong passion for the unhoused and do a lot of work with the Gateway 180 Shelter. For example, they have sponsored princess parties, play dates and a celebration for the International Day of Dance where they rented a studio and the girls received tutus, and performed on a stage.
The work is always done in memory of Brendon Chase Ogunnaike, Legacy’s big brother who passed away from Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes in 2017.
And now, 14 year old Legacy Jackson, is taking on another goal. Jackson will be the youngest person in the state of Missouri to give a TedTalk. You can listen to her at the Touhill Performing Arts Center on Friday October 27, 2023 at 2:30 pm.
