ST. LOUIS — Tomorrow, a new exhibit opens at the Missouri History Museum. Last night KSDK hosted a preview for 'Gateway to Pride'.
5 On Your Side meteorologist Jim Castillo and anchor Travis Cummings debuted four video stories previewing the exhibit and the St. Louis history behind it. The evening was paired with panel discussions with our area's experts. It was all to kick off the opening weekend of the exhibit detailing St. Louis' LGBTQIA+ history and culture.
Managing Director of Public History for the Missouri Historical Society, Sam Moore, says it is the first major exhibition on queer history in St. Louis, "telling the story of almost 200 years of history, more than 150 artifacts from LGBTQIA+ history, and countless stories that for the most part haven't been shared in a major way before," Moore said.
'Gateway to Pride' will remain open for more than a year at the Missouri History Museum. For a full list of Pride events and activities in the St. Louis area this month, text the word "pride" to 314-425-5355 and we'll send you a link.
