A Place to Call Home: Meet Mya

She’s almost sweet sixteen and can’t wait to celebrate! In today’s A Place to Call Home, Anthony Slaughter kicks off her birthday with a trip to the mat.

ST. LOUIS — Meet 16-year-old Mya. She lights up a room with her infectious smile. This special teen loves all things fashion and jumps at the opportunity to be creative. Currently, Mya is interested in fashion design, and she is hoping to apply to a program within her district that will allow her to explore her creative options.

When she isn’t working on her fashion, she can be found either focused on a video game or in her room jamming out to some music. Mya enjoys all genres of music, from pop to rap, or old-school jams to alternative music.

This teen also loves her friends. She will spend hours talking and laughing with her besties. She’s a great friend. While Mya can be slow to warm up to new faces, it is not hard for her to find common ground with new friends.

She is down to doing skin care, painting nails, or just relaxing and watching some music videos with a delicious, sweet snack! If you are interested in a creative fashionista, Karmajah is your girl!!!

For her birthday, Mya would love a skating party to celebrate! If you would like to grant her a little wish or learn more about becoming part of her life, please call the Foster and Adoptive Care Coalition at 1-800-FOSTER3.

A special thank you to Ann from Gracie Humaita Weldon Springs for showing Mya and Anthony a few moves!
