ST. LOUIS — If you come across a gang of cheerleaders roaming the streets, this Halloween, fear not. They’re likely just out raising money for their cheer program. Brentwood Middle School cheerleaders have teamed-up with local business Sign Me St. Louis to bring some Halloween cheer to an unsuspecting front yard near you.
Cheerleading coordinator Krystal Lang said they need to raise money for uniforms, poms and other accessories.
Here’s how it works – they paid Sign Me St. Louis to “boo” somebody’s house or office, and part of the proceeds go to the cheer program.
Brentwood resident Nancy Parker Tice’s house was boo’ed a couple weeks before Halloween.
“There were 10 to 15 signs,” said Tice, “there were balloons, little cute ghosts with faces, pumpkins. The larger sign read, ‘You've been boo’ed!’”
More than 25 locations have been “boo’ed” for the Brentwood Middle cheer program.
Sign Me St. Louis owner Lori Ehlert said, “Some people have boo’ed a neighbor, they boo’ed businesses. They order signs with us and we set it up like night ninjas in the evening, and they wake up to a nice surprise in the morning.”
Sign Me St. Louis makes signs for all occasions.
