ST. LOUIS — St. Louis is filled with some incredible kids and this young girl is no exception! It's a pageant unlike any other, the National American Miss empowers, challenges, and encourages young women to achieve their dreams. Now, one local trailblazer is heading to the competition.
Meet Mellena Blockton. She is St. Louis's next rising star and even had her own introduction prepared to share with the world. She is heading into 2nd grade in the St. Louis Public School district and already has a bright future ahead of her.
Despite her young age, Mellena is greatly involved in her community. She partnered with 100.3 the Beat Radio to voice her opinion about bullying on The Youth P.O.V Show and volunteered at the Sista Strut event to supply sunglasses to event speakers and officials. She has also donated her time to become a bell ringer for the Salvation Army during the holidays and so much more.
The world was introduced to Mellena and her mother Carmellena when she was featured on Show Me St. Louis back in November.
Now, we have welcomed her back once again as she continues on her journey as a finalist for the National American Miss. The pageant will be held June 27-July 1 in Omaha, Nebraska. Now, Mellena is counting on your support to help continue to reach her dreams.
And Mellena couldn't leave without wishing her grandma a happy birthday live on air.
