Check out the latest venture from the family behind Balkan Treat Box, Telva at Ridge

The grab-and-go cafe with a Balkan-inspired menu is the latest venture from the family behind Balkan Treat Box.

WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. — Nestled at the top of Rolling Ridge Nursery in Webster Groves you will find Telva at the Ridge.

The grab-and-go cafe with a Balkan-inspired menu is the latest venture from the family behind Balkan Treat Box.

"We always have a lot of concepts running around in our heads and a cafe has always been one of them. And we just said like, why don't we do it?" said Chef Loryn Nalic.

The two-time James Beard award semifinalist says the location at Rolling Ridge was the perfect fit.

"It was one of the first places we parked the truck. We live in Webster Groves. So it was kind of a natural connection," she said.

The chef got her start alongside her husband Edo with a food truck that would go on to become the award-winning restaurant, Balkan Treat Box.

While it’s a new concept you will find the familiar flavors of the Balkan region on the menu at Telva.

"Whether that's Bosnia or Croatia or Turkey, Greece. We do wood fire cooking," Nalic said.

The breads and pastries are made fresh daily. You're sure to satisfy your sweet tooth with choices like their tahini bun, delicious jam cake, and authentic baklava.

And if you need a caffeine kick, there’s a list of creative lattes to choose like the crowd favorite, Rose Latte, or traditional Turkish espresso.

Beyond the drinks and the sweets, there’s a full menu of unique breakfast dishes to kick-start your day.

Their signature dish is the Cilbir, it's two runny, sunny-side-up eggs on top of a bed of garlic yogurt with tomato-chili brown butter and fresh herbs. The Breakfast Sendvic is Telva's take on a breakfast sandwich. Word on the street is it's the best breakfast sandwich in St. Louis served on their signature bread with a runny egg, cheese, and the option to add Sudzuka, a dry, spicy, and fermented sausage from the Balkan region.

The dishes speak for themselves, but for Chef Loyrn, it goes beyond the food, it is the community.

"You really feel like you're a part of someone's community. You want to be here for them when they're celebrating milestones or maybe they're seeing a good friend for the first time in a while or they are just walking down the street and want to grab a cup of coffee and a pastry. We just want to be a part of people's day-to-day," she said.

Make Telva at the Ridge a part of your day-to-day! You can stop by the cafe at 60 N Gore Ave A, Webster Groves, MO 63119, or order online by visiting telvastl.com.
