ST. LOUIS — If you're looking to sharpen up your French culture ahead of the Paris Olympics, you're in luck!
Cinema St. Louis is presenting the 16th Annual Robert Classic French Film Festival this weekend at the Hi-Pointe Theatre. The cultural event celebrates St. Louis' French heritage and France's cinematic legacy with films like The Storm Within and Petite maman.
The director of festivals and education for Cinema St. Louis, Emmett Williams, says this year's theme is the French family.
"All of the films explore the idea of what family means to French culture. The films run throughout the history of cinema. So, it's really exciting to dig a little bit deeper into the films and themes," he said.
Each screening includes introductions and post-film discussions led by film and French scholars and critics.
