A recipe for Italian comfort food that Dana grew up on

Recipe for Mom’s Meatballs:

Makes about 30-35 meatballs

Ingredients:

  • 3 ½ lbs ground beef
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • ¼ tsp garlic granules
  • 1/3 cup dried parsley
  • ½ cup shredded asiago cheese (use less if finely grated)
  • 3 slices of Italian sandwich bread crumbled in food processor
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 jars store bought tomato sauce

Step 1: Make the breadcrumbs

Add salt, pepper, garlic granules, parsley, asiago cheese in food processor with bread. Pulse until fine.

Step 2: Make meatball mixture

Add the breadcrumbs and eggs to 3 ½ lbs ground beef in a large bowl. Mix with hands.

Step 3: Roll into meatballs

Step 4: Place meatballs on greased baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes

Step 5: Simmer in sauce for 30 minutes

Step 6: Add to pasta or sandwiches and enjoy!
