Explore local water gardens across the St. Louis region at the 24th Annual Pond-O-Rama

Hosted by the St. Louis Water Garden Society, this event shows off some of the most creative, elaborate water gardens of the region.

ST. LOUIS — “People always ask how  much work do you have to do?” says Mark Kalk and Mark Lammert, participants in Pond-O-Rama. “Well none, because I like it.”

Meet Mark and Mark.

“This started 12 or maybe 14 years ago,” says Kalk.

The dynamic duo have been working on their garden for over a decade! Cultivating what can only be described as…a secret oasis. Not only is their water garden enrolled in the national wildlife registration, but it is also pup friendly. Introducing their pup, Penny!

“She is pretty good with everything,” says Kalk. “There is a dog beach in the pond, so she can enter on the ledge and play around a little bit. ”

The garden was designed with the pup in mind! There is attention and detail with every bloom.  Yet, this is just one stop on the tour. Mark your calendars. It is time for the 24th Annual Pond-O-Rama.

“The tour is a wonderful way to see gardens of all varieties,” says Ginny Mueller, Chairperson for Pond-O-Rama 2024.

The St. Louis Water Garden Society’s annual tour features breathtaking ponds and water gardens across the region. This weekend, you can explore and tour these sights for yourself.

Whether wanting to take in some pretty sights, or perhaps learn a thing or two, be sure to add Pond-O-Rama to your list of must-do’s!
