Force De Femme is a party with girl power

An event to raise your glass to

It is an event to raise a glass to.

"We are going to have over 30 dishes for you to try, we're going to have even more beverages to be tried," explains Angela Ortmann.

She's a woman better known as STL Wine Girl.

"When people ask what I do I kind of just say I eat, drink, talk about it and find a way to get paid to do that and that's not a bad gig."

She's also been known to throw one heck of a bash and she's at it again with Love to Eat, Eat to Love 2: Force De Femme.

It's a party not just running on girl power, but honoring it. A collaboration of nearly 100 women with some sort of connection to food and drink.

"We have women farmers, women who are in the distribution market and then we have chefs and sommelier and bartenders and brewers. So every dish or drink that your are going to taste at the event essentially has anywhere from two to six women behind it."

Each glass, every dish was given extra thought.

"I will be offering female owned, female produced wineries from all over the world," Alisha Blackwell, the sommelier at Reeds American Table says.

It's a chance to not only sample some of the best food in our city, but to take a moment and realize how many women are doing incredible things in the industry.

"So this is a Turkish pide, it's a pretty traditional street food found in Istanbul," Loryn Feliciano Nalic, the owner of Balkan Treat Box points out.

It's a night to sip, celebrate and savor the accomplishments of so many women in our area.

"It's just going to be a night of eating and drinking and having a good time and hearing these women's stories and how they got into it." Ortmann adds.

Love to Eat, Eat to Love number #2 - Force De Femme is Monday night from 6 to 8:30 at 2nd Shift Brewing which is at 1601Sublette Avenue. Tickets are $55. Click here for tickets https://squareup.com/store/stlwinegirl/item/love-to-eat-eat-to-love-1
