ST. LOUIS — It's Friday and if you're looking for some weekend plans, we have you covered. The Gateway Center for Performing Arts, or GCPA, is presenting 'Ragtime The Musical.'
It is a professional-level production performed entirely by St. Louis youth. 'Ragtime' takes place at the turn of the century and focuses on racial injustice and how it affects the lives of those in the story.
It is based on a Tony-winning score and shows a diverse musical style and rhythms.
Friday morning, Lawrence Haliburton and Zion Thomas, the co-choreographer and the assistant director, stopped by the Show Me Studio to share what viewers can expect. AnnaKait Peters-Bahkou plays "Mother" in the musical and gives us a sneak peek of the performance of the opening night.
Opening night is tonight! You can watch it at the Kirkwood Performing Arts Center and grab tickets online. The show runs all weekend until the 21st.
