Harder Than it Looks: Malik digs into volleyball with Francis Howell Central Spartans women's team

Volleyball was one of the first sports to include women from day one of it being introduced as a sport in the Olympics and this year will make 60-years of play.

ST. LOUIS — Volleyball made it's Olympic debut in 1964 and now 60 years later the sport is arguably one of the most watched events.

So, I figured why not give it a try and see if I can hang with some of the best. But first, Let me introduce you to my coach and Francis Howell Central High School player, Jordan Smith.

"I really love it. It's a fun game," Jordan Smith, Francis Howell Central High School Senior Right Side Player, said.

Smith has played volleyball since around the age of 9 when her step-dad introduced her to a volleyball.

Smith's phenomenal game play has earned her an opportunity to play on the North Carolina State Women's Volleyball team and today it's earned her a spot at being my coach.
