Harder than it Looks: Malik weighs in on Competitive Lifting

Taveon Sanders-Wolf with Lift for Life Gym takes Malik Wilson on a trial run of how to be a competitive lifter.

ST. LOUIS — Weightlifting has been part of the modern Olympic Games since 1896, though it was only included as a regular event in 1920.

Women's weightlifting was introduced in the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Competitors are divided into weight classes to ensure fair competition.

Today I decided to see if it was truly harder than it looks.

Taveon Sanders-Wolf has been lifting for over 10 years and stepped up to coach me. Sanders-Wolf though got his training through Lift For Life Gym
