How you can support the mission of Gateway180 this holiday season

Mary Thaier stops by Gateway180, the largest family shelter in the St. Louis area, for SMSL's Giving Week.

ST. LOUIS — Today kicks off our Giving Week on Show Me St. Louis! All week long we will be sharing organizations that you can support this holiday season.

Tuesday morning, I stopped by Gateway180. The nonprofit is Residential Emergency Shelter serving women, children, and families experiencing homelessness. At 110 beds, they are the largest family shelter, serving women and families from both St. Louis City and St. Louis County. While they offer immediate assistance to individuals experiencing homeless, the ultimate goal is to provide services and resources to assist clients in finding permeant housing and independence.

Executive Director Kathy Connors said, "via our housing focused shelter and case management, year to date in 2023, we have moved 293 people from shelter and homelessness to permanent housing."

The Five on Your Side family donated coats this morning to clients at Gateway180! And you can help, too.

Currently, the shelter is in need of baby snowsuits and bedding. You can drop donations off at Gateway 180 which is located at 1000 N 19th St, St. Louis, MO 63106.

You can learn more about supporting their mission at gateway180.org.
