ST. LOUIS — Mary Caltrider sat down with Lindy Drew to discuss the second printing of Humans of St. Louis, a beautiful unique book compiling stories of the interesting people who make up our great city. Thanks to the Regional Arts Commission the publishers ordered a second print run of 5,000 copies that are now available in local bookstores and on their website -humansofstl.org
Humans of St. Louis is one of hundreds of "Humans of" books around the world AND the second most followed in the U.S. after Humans of New York. Remarkably this is a self published 544-page book and last holiday season it was sold out in 3 weeks. This book is unique in the fact that it is a full color, street documentary project made of intimate portraits and personal narratives from people who share their own stories about their lives here in STL. Making the compilation of this book was a group endeavor. About 25 people brought this book to life from the authors, editors, designers, proofreaders, and the entire Humans of St. Louis team.
Humans of St. Louis will be part of this year's Jewish Book Festival event Missouri's Own: Homegrown Talent, a panel discussion on November 12th at 7 p.m. featuring three other local authors too. The event will take place at the St. Louis Jewish Community Center, SFC Performing Arts Center, 2 Millstone Campus Drive, St. Louis, MO 63146
