ST. LOUIS — The 268-room hotel in the heart of downtown Clayton, announces plans for the La Fête season, which includes the ultimate winter escape of The Chalet, a weekend pop-up bar and private event space. Charming in nature and designed with cozy luxury in mind, the Chalet opens on Friday, Nov. 11 and continues through Sunday, Feb. 26 with three exclusive indoor and outdoor experiences: The Chalet Pop-Up Bar as well as options for groups with The Chalet Experience and the Apres Ski Holiday Experience.
The hotel has additional celebratory offerings to savour the good life this holiday season including a specialty coffee drink as well as a hotel package in partnership with Takashima Record Bar, the listening lounge in St. Louis’ Grove neighborhood, which includes a curated in-room music experience.
The Chalet Pop-Up Bar will be open to the public on Fridays through Sundays until February, and the hotel will be hosting a coat drive to benefit The Little Bit Foundation on opening weekend, Friday, Nov. 11 through Sunday, Nov. 13. Guests who visit the Chalet can donate a new coat for children to receive 20% off their food and beverage purchases for the evening.
“The La Fête season is a time to embrace the winter season traditions, which center around celebrations, so we want to transport guests to the magic of a European ski holiday in downtown Clayton,” said Andrew Hargis, general manager of Le Meridien St. Louis Clayton. “The objective is to bring the glamour of traveling through Europe during the holidays to the Midwest.”
In addition to the rooftop Chalet, the hotel’s restaurant, Café la Vie, will offer a seasonal specialty coffee, A Taste of the Season, a cinnamon dolce latte made with premium illy coffee. Le Meridien St. Louis Clayton will also offer a La Fête hotel room package with breakfast for two, parking for one vehicle, seasonal La Fête cocktail amenity for two, in-room record experience designed by Owner & Creative Director of Takashima Records Daniel Hayden, and exclusive shopping deals from local Clayton shops such as: Splash (20% discount), City Sprouts (10% discount), The Woman’s Exchange (15% discount, excluding artisan items) and Sweet Boutique (10% discount). Beginning on Friday, Nov. 11, the hotel’s rooftop terrace will be transformed into a winter Chalet, styled to evoke the spirit of a European ski holiday. With decor charming in nature with cozy luxury in mind, guests can gather under wood pergolas with group seating with fire pits and blankets, twinkle lights, heat lamps, and more. Chalet visitors can also choose to try their hand at one of the world’s most famous winter sports by renting the hotel’s temporary curling rink. The rink is available to rent by the hour for $50 and can be booked in advance on OpenTable.
There will be a specialty menu at The Chalet with bites available for purchase such as Baked Brie and Pork Belly Brochette, which can be enjoyed alongside warm cocktails such as Mulled Wine, Bourbon Hot Toddy, Smoked Hot Chocolate, and more. All warm cocktails will be available in a shareable large format, which will be served in a thermos. The Chalet Pop Up Bar will be open to the public every Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
Private Chalet Room
Groups of 10 or less can choose to rent the private, indoor Chalet Room for the evening. This space, modeled after a classic and cozy ski lodge, comes equipped with a private outdoor patio and easy access to the entire rooftop experience. For $500, this two-hour experience includes a curling rink rental, complimentary parking, outdoor seating with a firepit, two bottles of champagne and a pail of 10 beers. Additional food and beverages may also be purchased. Reservations for the Chalet Room can both be made on OpenTable.
Apres Ski Experience
In addition to the Chalet Pop Up Bar and private Chalet Room, Le Meridien St. Louis Clayton created the Apres Ski Experience for larger private events and parties. This package includes rental of the indoor Chalet Room as well as private use of the curling rink, a private bartender, plus a specialized menu featuring a variety of cuisine like the Brie Crostini with Cranberry Chutney and Bacon Wrapped Dates with Saba. This is the perfect option for corporate holiday gatherings and is available any time of day throughout the season. Accommodations can be made for groups up to 150.
