Local priest raising funds for youth programs with upcoming production of "The Music Man"

The Fr. William Scheid Players present plays, reviews, and musicals featuring St. louis Archdiocesan clergy and laity to raise funds for youth programs.

ST. LOUIS — It is not your usual production.

“The priests in the show are the big draw,” says Dan Karcher, Director.

It is the Father William Scheid Players! Mike Kalist, alongside a handful of priests, first formed the performance group in 1981.

“They deal with a lot of heavy stuff like people do in those positions, so I think it is a good release for them,” says Kalist, first Director and co-founder. “They enjoy doing it.”

Now, 50 productions later, 3 priests from the Archdiocese of St. Louis are once again headed to the stage to present…The Music Man! The priests include Msgr. Norb Ernst, Father Mike Donald, and Father John Brennell. Alongside the 3 priests, The Music Man has a cast of over 90 people of all ages and all parishes.

The Music Man runs from Friday, July 19th through Sunday, July 21st at Nerinx Hall High School. Tickets are $12 in advance, and $15 at the door. Learn further information by visiting here.
