ST. LOUIS — Whether you’re the host or the guest, it makes sense to have non-alcohol options available this holiday season. Monday morning, Jennifer McDaniel of McDaniel Nutrition Therapy stopped by the Show Me kitchen to share some mocktail options. McDaniel explains per recent Mintel research, the ‘sober curious’ lifestyle is growing with nearly 4 out of 10 people closely or occasionally following a sober curious lifestyle.

Make the Mocktail: Sparkling Cranberry Kombucha Mocktail

Ingredients

1.5 Tbsp. simple syrup (see recipe below)

2 oz. cup 100% cranberry juice

4 oz.  cup Ginger Kombucha

2 oz. cup club soda, sparkling or mineral water

2 sprigs rosemary

2 slice raw ginger

Fresh cranberries for garnish & for simple syrup

Directions

For the simple syrup: In a small saucepan, combine ¼ cup sugar and ¼ cup water. Add a few fresh cranberries, sprig of rosemary and slice of raw ginger. Bring the mixture to a boil until the sugar has dissolved. Pour into a glass container and let cool. This will make about ½ cup simple syrup for future use.
