ST. LOUIS — Olympic and Paralympic Day commemorates the birth of the modern Olympic Games, promotes Olympic values, and celebrates the St. Louis region’s place in the Olympic Movement as the community looks forward to the 2024 Paris Games.
Monday morning, Olympian, Dawn Harper-Nelson, and St. Louis Sports Commission Foundation Director, Solomon Alexander, stopped by the Show Me studio to share an inside look of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Day. This Friday, June 21st from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. the public is invited to meet Olympians and learn new things about the region. There will be a panel discussion hosted by 5 On Your Side's, Rene Knott. The event includes a run or walk around the 1904 Olympic Stadium track with Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Dawn Harper-Nelson and other St. Louis Olympians. Harper-Nelson also shared just how important this event is for inspiring the future generations. Take a look!
