The Musial Awards is the most inspiring night in sports! Named for baseball Hall of Famer Stan Musial, the show honors the year’s greatest moments of sportsmanship as well as those in sports who embody class and character.
Vice President of the St. Louis Sports Commission, Marc Schreiber, is here to tell us more about this year’s event. 5 On Your Side’s own Mike Bush is the host for this event. This is his 14th year doing it, and he is sent around the country to cover stories of inspiring sportsmanship.
Marc says that the most exciting development for this year is that the show will be on National television. The event will air on CBS in December, and everyone involved is excited to share these stories with the country while showcasing St. Louis. Making another NBC connection, Al Roker Entertainment will be producing the broadcast.
The St. Louis audience can really get excited about the Extraordinary Character Award Winner, Laila Anderson. Although she has battled so much, she still has managed to inspire an entire city.
The annual event takes place on Saturday, November 23 at Stifel Theatre in Downtown St. Louis. The televised event will happen on CBS on Saturday, December 21 at 1 PM. Find out more on musialawards.com.
