ST. LOUIS — This morning on Show Me St. Louis Mary Caltrider sat down with Gwenna Laithland, author of New York Times bestselling book "Momma Cusses" to discuss what inspired this mother and TikTok star to write her first book. It truly is a field guide for responsive parenting. Laithland views responsive parenting as the opposite of reactive parenting. In general, you cannot prepare for every possibility of stress you and your child will encounter, but you can prepare for your reaction. As Laithland noted, "Not everyone needs to melt down." The author wanted to provide a resource for parents who truly have no idea where to begin as a parent. This book attempts to be a realistic and relatable view on parenting.
