ST. LOUIS — The Delmar Loop is excited to host an upcoming Juneteenth Celebration on June 15th. Juneteenth is an essential commemoration of freedom as well as an opportunity for the community to come together in both celebration and reflection.
This year, four organizations are coming together for the event. Delmar Boulevard, a symbol of division, is transcending its historical barriers as both sides of the Delmar Loop, University City and St. Louis City, along with Delmar Main Street and the St. Louis Reconciliation Network, unite their efforts to create a Juneteenth festival experience.
Friday morning, Red and Black Brass Band joined Mary in studio to share a look ahead at the excitement. The St. Louis group shares this year the festivities are growing with an energizing 5K Morning Run, an afternoon Vendor Fair, and live music featuring performances by talented African dancers, drummers, musicians. Plus, the community can enjoy a car show, too.
It all kicks off the morning of June 15th. You can learn further information by visiting here.
