DITTMER, Mo. — Sana Lake is a new substance abuse recovery center less than an hour South of St. Louis. It opened at the end of July last year, but there are already songs and even dogs named after the center by members who received help there. This is because Sana Lake Recovery Center focuses on creating and maintaining a recovery community, even after members leave.
Sana Lake Recovery Center is all about fostering a connection for its members with nature, with others, and with themselves. Members had lives that felt out of control, so by providing a quiet and soothing environment as a foundation, Sana Lake is already a step ahead.
Sana Lake takes a unique approach to helping people with substance abuse and mental health disorders. Their campus is 55 acres including two bodies of water and walking trails. They want members to become connected with their surroundings and become aware of their surroundings. All 22 bedrooms at the center face the lake in an effort to start the day in a positive way.
At Sana Lake Recovery Center, they are able to do things a little outside of the box. They provide a more holistic approach to wellness and nutrition. The center also provides support for families of those in treatment and ongoing support for members, even after they leave.
