ST. LOUIS — Carnivore comes from the same family who opened a barbeque joint on the Hill called J Smugs GastroPit.
The steakhouse is located on the corner of Shaw and Edwards on The Hill, in the former Mona's space.
The Beef Modiga Flatbread is a popular item on the menu. And of course you can a 14-ounce ribeye or 10-ounce filet with a side of shrimp.
They also make their own compound butters and have 5 to choose from, including garlic herb, bleu cheese, garlic parmesan, red wine shallot reduction to melt on your steak.
Joe Smugala said, "There are all types of great Italian restaurants on the Hill. That's what people come for. Most of them have a good steak. We feel we're steak-centric, concentrating on steak in a fun atmosphere."
