ST. LOUIS — Thousands showed up in Downtown St. Louis, this Sunday, for the Grand Pride Parade, turning the city all the colors of the rainbow.
Attendee, Jeslyn Lodwick says St. Louis brought the energy, "the people, the personalities, the love in the air!"
Sunday's Grand Pride Parade wraps up a weekend full of events known as PrideFest. The theme for the 43rd annual festival is 'Unleash Your Pride," and those who turned out did just that! Pets and people brought out their most colorful costumes.
The celebration brought spectators and participants of all ages. Organizers say the two-day festival brings 340,000 people to Downtown St. Louis.
Bre Watts, attending the parade with friends, shares the importance of our city celebrating Pride. "Pride is St. Louis. We are a part of St. Louis just like everybody else. So, St. Louis should be proud," she says.
Mayor Tishaura Jones in attendance, proud of our city’s support for the LGBTQIA+ community. "Pride is important to celebrate in St. Louis because we are an inclusive community. Everyone is welcome regardless of who they love or how they worship," she says.
All are welcome for this celebration of love and pride in Downtown St. Louis.
