WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. — When Brittany Elgin and her husband bought this 122 year old house on Ridge Avenue in Webster Groves, they saw major potential.
She said, “It was a diamond in the rough… It needed some love.”
For the past 5 years, the handy couple has been renovating the entire home by themselves and now their hard work has paid off.
The kitchen is the focal point of the home, featuring dark floors, white cabinets, counters, and backsplash. You can tour this home along with five others on Sunday, Dec. 8 during the 28th Annual Webster Holiday House Tour.
Teresa Herrell, 2019 chair for Webster Groves Holiday House Tour Chair, said,"It is Pinterest come to life"
Proceeds benefit Hixson Middle School PTO.
Herrell said, "Our only fundraiser, our biggest fundraiser. We attract between 1000-2000 people every year."
The homes on the tour are all decked out for the holidays. This home's decor is inspired by the homeowners travels to Scotland.
“We loved it, all the greenery that was there, all the tartan and plaid. So when we got back we thought we should do a Scottish Christmas,” Elgin said.
The tour is Dec. 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visit Eventbrite.com for tickets or head to Straub's and Freddie’s Market in Webster Groves. Tickets are $20 in advance.
