Have a case of the winter blues? Try out these easy lifestyle changes to boost your mood during these colder months.

ST. LOUIS — Health and wellness coach, Kira Andersen, stopped by the Show Me studio to share tips for a healthier 2024. Andersen explains the winter months can be difficult. Many Americans suffer each year from seasonal affective disorder. Here are some easy lifestyle changes you can make today to boost your mood during the colder months.

1. Write 5 things you are grateful for each day.

2. Get outside! Even if it is cold, you can still get some Vitamin D when bundled up.

3. Keep moving. Exercise to boost your mood.

4. Add cinnamon to your foods and drinks. Cinnamon lowers blood sugar, cholesterol, and reduces inflammation. It is also full of nutrients.

5. Add supplements. Talk to your doctor. Consider incorporating Vitamin D, B6 (folic acid) into your everyday routine to cure the winter blues.
