Using Writing as a Creative Outlet: Meet the author of "Something Beautiful"

She's the author of a romance novel that debuted in the top 10 new releases for small-town romance after just 24 hours on Amazon. Meet Kait Weaver-Smith.

ST. LOUIS — "Something Beautiful" is a small-town lover-after-loss romance novel by local author Kait Weaver-Smith. This is Kait’s debut novel and it debuted in the top 10 new releases for small-town romance after just 24 hours on Amazon. Kait started her journey as a stay-at-home mom looking for a creative outlet, and that blossomed into writing a compelling novel about love, loss, and the power of second chances.

Tuesday morning, Kait joined Mary Caltrider live in the studio to share the success of her new book, what it is about, and some fun surprises for Swifties.

Kait says, "I originally started writing while I was struggling with postpartum depression, and it became a valuable creative outlet that helped me through a tough time. I listened to Taylor Swift and Chelsea Cutler A LOT during this period, and there’s a lot about their songs that inspired this storyline."

"Something Beautiful" features two people finding love after unimaginable tragedies in their lives. Kait says, "It is perfect for people who love movies, songs, and books that make them feel something. I’m proud to say I wrote something that makes people sob. Readers who enjoy authors like Colleen Hoover and Kennedy Ryan will love this book."

Speaking of surprises, the book is filled with Taylor Swift references for all the Swifties out there.

The book is available locally at The Novel Neighbor, Main Street Books in St. Charles, on Kait's website, and also for Free on Kindle Unlimited.
