CRESTWOOD, Mo. — If you're looking for a Halloween event, why not add Cal-O-Ween to your weekend plans, too?
A neighborhood is celebrating Cal Orf, a little boy who has been fighting Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) since his 5th birthday two years ago. To honor his resilience, Crestwood’s Mayor Scott Shipley will also officially proclaim October 26 as Calvin Orf Day!
It's a free event with lots of Halloween festivities, and the band Fix Newton will play later in the day. The block party will take place around 8831 Fox Park Drive in Crestwood starting at 3 p.m. The mayor will stop by at 4 p.m. to give Cal his proclamation.
Here are the details:
Fun for All Ages – Costumes are encouraged, with prizes for the best dressed.
Kids Activities – Pumpkin painting, cookie decorating, S’more making, a bounce house, and carnival games.
Potluck & Treats – Bring a dish to share, plus your own snacks, drinks, chairs, and blankets.
Live Music – Enjoy the tunes from Fix Newton throughout the event.
All proceeds will help cover Calvin's medical expenses and support the Dream Factory, an organization that makes dreams come true for children facing chronic or critical illnesses.
