ST. LOUIS — Good news!
A beloved giraffe sculpture that disappeared from a St. Louis brewing company has been found.
Peaches disappeared on July 2. Owner of Civil Life Brewing Company, Jake Hafner, said the sculpture was located on July 9, but the people who took it have not been found.
“PEACHES has been found!! But the suspects are still at large! This is not over!” Civil Life Brewing Company posted on its Facebook.
Hafner said he bought the giraffe about one year ago at Gringo Jones Imports.
Peaches is part of a display adjacent to the brewery called "Giraffic Park," along with four dinosaur sculptures. Hafner said they brought in the dinosaurs when they closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, but kept Peaches outside because they figured it was "too big" to steal.
Hafner said here’s a $1,000 reward being offered for information on the suspects as well as a $1,000 donation that will be made to Northside Community Housing to help Save Sara-Lou Cafe a historic and culturally important landmark in The Ville neighborhood.
"I also know there are bigger things and more important things than our Giraffe but if we aren't sad when things are taken from us that bring us joy Every. Single. Day. then we just aren't doing life right," Hafner said on Facebook.
