Blues superfan Laila Anderson to be featured in Be The Match livestream

During the segment, she will share her story and will interview some of her favorite sportscasters

ST. LOUIS — St. Louis Blues superfan Laila Anderson is finding ways to help others amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

She is partnering with a nonprofit to raise awareness for those in need of a life-saving bone marrow transplant.

She will be featured in Be the Match’s first-ever #Couch2Cure LIVE.

The all-day livestream event will feature some of the most vulnerable patients who are looking for a blood stem cell match during the pandemic.

Be The Match is the only organization in the U.S. that facilitates bone marrow transplants, according a spokesperson for the organization.

“Be The Match hopes to encourage people to make the most out of their time in isolation and join the national registry or make financial contributions to help those still looking for a match,” the spokesperson said.

Laila will have her own segment during the livestream where she will share her battle with Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) and how she’s been doing since her transplant.

During the segment, she will also be interviewing some of her favorite sportscasters including Joe Buck and St. Louis Blues announcer Tom Calhoun.

The event will be streamed on May 5. To learn more about the event and to watch, click here.
