ST. LOUIS – 5 On Your Side got a sneak peek at the new $380 million Gateway Arch museum which opens to the public on July 3.
The new museum covers 201 years of American history from colonial St. Louis of 1764 all the way through the construction of the Gateway Arch in 1965.
There are six exhibit galleries that highlight a specific time period.
Visitors will be able to walk all the way from the old courthouse to the new entrance of the Gateway Arch without crossing the highway as in days past.
As you enter, there will be an information center where you can purchase tram tickets if you want to ride to the top.
Everyone will need to pass through a new security screening area then take the stairs, escalator or elevator to the ground floor. All areas of the new museum are accessible.
Admission to the museum is free.
