FLORISSANT, Mo. – Join us in wishing a longtime resident of St. Louis a happy 105th birthday on July 23!
Jessie O’Bryant, also known as ‘Miss Jessie,’ turns 105 years old on July 23.
O’Bryant and her family had a party on Saturday at Christian Extended Care and Rehabilitation in Florissant. A spokesperson said Miss Jessie had a great day celebrating with family, friends and cake! A singer from the church she attended until she was 103 years old came to the party to sing for her.
She was born in Tunica, Mississippi in 1914 and moved to St. Louis in 1940.
Miss Jessie goes to the beauty shop every Thursday. Her favorite food is BBQ!
“I like music, but I can’t sing and can’t dance. I have two left feet. But if I talked about music, we’d be here all night,” Miss Jessie said.
She also still has a sense of humor, “I don’t watch TV – can’t hear it and there’s nothing ever on,” She said.
