Wanted: Fox takes golf ball from Jefferson County sheriff's charity golf tournament

The fox managed to purloin a golfer's ball.

FESTUS, Mo. — A sheriff's office put out a notice regarding a fugitive fox that caused chaos on a golf green in Festus Friday.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the fox was on the lam after taking a golf ball at the Sheriff's Office Golf Invitational at Crystal Highlands Golf Course.

The post on Facebook said the fox was "wanted," and deputies believed the fox "may have accomplices and they may have victimized numerous golfers."
